Welcome to Herp Halfway House
Our purpose is the rescue, rehabilitation & adoption of abandoned, abused & unwanted reptiles, as well as education of the general public.
We also do reptile removal as needed. See below for more info.
Based in Texas, we've been taking in reptiles for a couple years. Having kept an uncountable number of animals over the years, this website
seemed to be the next logical step.
Upon Daves return from Iraq we will be starting our Educational Programs, School Programs and everything else we have planned so stay tuned for more to come. He will be home
by March 2009.
We participate in educational events, including reptile expos and classroom presentations, in an attempt to educate the public about the
enormous responsibility it takes to care for these animals. With the popularity of exotic pets skyrocketing, combined with the lack of
responsibility and research on the part of many pet owners, the need for rescue work is only increasing. We have stepped in to do our part.

We would like to take some time to mention a group of people who have taken their time to help us out dramatically. They are great asset to the Herp Community and should be known as such. Run by Laura, firebellied (Steve), and lizardlover (Linda) Reptilicious is a forum with an untouchable knowledge base supported by members that truly give their all in support to doing what is right for all animals. We can honestly say they will take you under their wing and treat you with the utmost respect. We have personally felt the difference they can make and would love to share our experience so you may understand why we recommend them so much.
When we joined the forum we got a warm welcome and immediately began sharing our knowledge, experience, and stories. The Members were not judgmental and participated in the conversations. I had asked Laura how to go about sponsoring this fantastic forum and she told me some options but needed to talk with Steve and Linda as well. They sent me a message back letting me know that they would set us up with a banner advertisement, fliers with our information and our own thread all free just to help us out along our journey. I was caught off guard by this kindness and that just added to my opinion about the forum and its staff. It showed their dedication to help others that are in this field helping people and animals.
To my surprise this was just the beginning. They sent me another message shortly after letting me know everything was set up and they had something else to share with us. They wanted to do a Fundraiser with all the proceeds going to a Rescue for quite some time and that time has come. They decided that Rescue was going to be Herp Halfway House. I was speechless to this. I have not seen support of this caliber before.
Our opinion may be a bit bias towards Reptilicious but hopefully you can see what great people they are and join this fine community. My hats off to Reptilicious and their Members. Thank you Laura, Steve, Linda, and all your great Members.
