Available for Adoption

We are an all-volunteer organization and are working very hard to stay on top of all incoming adoption applications. Due to the large number received, it may take 5-7 business days to get a response from us. Please be patient. If you do not hear from us within two week's time, please email us a reminder -- we do experience computer glitches which sometimes "lose" applications. Our average time from application to adoption is approximately one week. We will ship at the adopters expense. Shipping varies based on the animal adopted.

These are some things we look for in our adopters:

• General knowledge of the species you are considering adopting. If you don't know everything, that's fine. A willingness to learn will get you a long way. We are here to help you!
  
  
• A stable and loving environment for the animals. We want to know that they will be well cared for, and that the person will be willing to handle the day-to-day feeding, cleaning, and socialization.
  
  
• The cost of caring for an animal, including all habitat needs, food, and vet visits if needed.
  
  
• Reptiles adopted from Herp Halfway House are intended to be kept as family pets only...not breeders.
  
  
• You must be 18 years old or older to adopt from Herp Halfway House. If you are younger than 18, please have your parent or guardian fill out the application.
